Job Title: Aide PE Exemption Status/Test : Non-Exempt Reports to: Principal and Teacher(s) Assigned Date Revised: March 2016 Dept. /School: Assigned Campus Pay Grade: PA1 Primary Purpose: Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities. Qualifications: Education/Certificati on: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Texas educational aide certificate upon hire Experience: Prior experience working with children, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics Ability to work well with children Ability to communicate effectively Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support 1. Setting up equipment and arranging the physical space for activities and lessons. 2. Demonstrating proper techniques and exercises to students to ensure they understand and perform them safely 3. and effectively. 4. Monitor students during physical activities to ensure safety and adherence to rules. 5. Offer guidance and assistance to students who may need extra help or have specific questions about exercises or techniques. 6. Track equipment inventory, ensure equipment is properly maintained, and help students with equipment as needed. 7. Provide instruction to students under the teacher's direction; work with individual students or small groups. 8. Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. 9. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. 10. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom. 11. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. 12. Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports. 13. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Student Management 14. Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. 15. Make teachers aware of the special needs or problems of individual students.
Other 16. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. 17. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned. 18. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 19. Perform all other duties as assigned.
