Description
Position Scope
The EPG Shop Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment in a controlled shop environment. This includes interpreting OEM service manuals, electrical schematics, and company procedures. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, familiarity with AC/DC circuits, and proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and torque wrenches. Work focuses on accuracy, safety, and efficiency to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators, ATS, and related components
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques
- Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records
- Adhere to all safety standards and company policies
- Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical troubleshooting experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must own basic industrial tools (hand tools, torque wrenches, multimeters)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in generator repair or related field
- Technical training or military equivalent preferred
Education Requirements

Work Environment
Primarily shop-based work with occasional field support. Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment. PPE required at all times. Occasional overtime may be necessary.
