Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer for a temp-to-hire manufacturing opportunity in Oklahoma City. This is a hands-on industrial position supporting fabrication, welding, machine operation, deliveries, maintenance, and general shop activities.

The ideal candidate has previous industrial, construction, or general labor experience, is comfortable performing physically demanding work, and is interested in developing additional manufacturing skills.

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous industrial, construction, or general labor experience required
• Manufacturing education and/or certification preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist Welders and Fabricators with production activities
• Support fabrication and welding operations
• Move and stage materials throughout the shop
• Assist with machine-operation activities as assigned
• Help with deliveries when required
• Support general maintenance activities
• Perform routine shop chores
• Clean and organize production areas
• Maintain safe and hazard-free work areas
• Follow standard work procedures
• Follow established job-safety requirements
• Help ensure completed work meets quality expectations
• Use applicable hand and power tools
• Learn to safely use grinders
• Learn to work with overhead cranes
• Learn forklift operation as assigned
• Learn to operate or assist with plasma-cutting equipment
• Communicate production or safety concerns promptly
• Perform additional projects and general labor duties as assigned

Fabrication & Welding Support

Candidates may assist experienced employees with:

• Material preparation
• Component positioning
• Fabrication support
• Welding preparation
• Grinding
• Material movement
• Tool preparation
• Work-area cleanup
• General production activities

Previous welding experience is not listed as a requirement, but candidates should be comfortable working around active welding and fabrication operations.

Tools & Equipment

Candidates should be willing to learn to safely use or work around:

• Grinders
• Overhead cranes
• Forklifts
• Plasma cutters
• Basic hand tools
• Power tools
• Fabrication machinery
• Other industrial equipment as assigned

Training and authorization requirements must be completed before independently operating applicable equipment.

Maintenance & Shop Support

• Assist with routine shop maintenance
• Keep tools and materials organized
• Remove scrap and debris
• Maintain clean production areas
• Help keep walkways and workspaces clear
• Assist with additional facility or equipment-related tasks as directed
• Support other departments when needed

Quality Responsibilities

• Follow established work procedures
• Maintain quality expectations for assigned work
• Inspect work for obvious concerns
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage
• Communicate defects or production issues
• Follow supervisor direction when corrections are required
• Maintain consistent workmanship throughout the shift

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding industrial position.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to climb as required
• Ability to handle materials ranging from light to heavy
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures for extended periods
• Ability to safely work around welding, fabrication, and industrial equipment
• Ability to wear all required PPE

Schedule Requirements

Candidates must be available for the full production schedule:

• Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

This is an extended-hour production schedule, so dependable attendance and the ability to maintain productivity throughout long shifts are important.
