Position Summary
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs throughout hotel guest rooms and designated areas to ensure all facilities are safe, fully operational, well-maintained, and guest-ready.
This is a highly visible position with frequent guest interaction. The General Maintenance Technician must consistently demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong communication skills, and exceptional customer service while responding to maintenance requests and addressing guest concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance inspections of hotel guest rooms on a rotating basis.
Conduct daily walkthroughs of designated areas and complete required maintenance checklists.
Ensure all items and equipment within guest rooms are fully operational prior to guest check-in.
Inspect and verify that:
Identify maintenance, safety, or repair issues and take appropriate corrective action.
Respond promptly to guest service calls and maintenance requests in occupied guest rooms.
Complete necessary repairs and communicate unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor or department.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Interact professionally and courteously with guests, coworkers, and management at all times.
Respond appropriately to guest complaints and maintenance-related concerns, working to resolve issues to the guests satisfaction.
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
The General Maintenance Technician must be able to perform the physical duties associated with general hotel maintenance, including walking and standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and performing repairs in guest rooms and other hotel areas.
The position may require working in occupied guest rooms and interacting directly with guests while completing maintenance and repair activities.
