Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a mechanically inclined General Technician to join the Heat Exchanger Department of a Tulsa manufacturing operation. This position combines hands-on mechanical assembly and production work with opportunities to assist with aluminum TIG welding and heat exchanger fabrication.

The ideal candidate is comfortable using hand tools, has strong mechanical aptitude, and is interested in developing additional manufacturing and welding skills. Aluminum TIG welding experience is preferred but extensive on-the-job welding experience is not required. Welding school graduates are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with stronger aluminum TIG welding skills or relevant welding experience may qualify for higher pay within the available range.

Production is currently operating on an extended schedule, so candidates must be available for mandatory overtime from 6:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform general technician duties within the Heat Exchanger Department
• Assist with heat exchanger assembly and production
• Perform mechanical assembly of components
• Assist with aluminum TIG welding tasks according to skill level
• Prepare components for welding and assembly
• Use hand tools during production and fabrication processes
• Position and assemble components according to work instructions
• Follow applicable production specifications
• Inspect components for obvious defects or quality concerns
• Maintain consistent workmanship throughout production
• Assist experienced Welders and Technicians as required
• Maintain tools and materials in organized condition
• Keep assigned work areas clean and safe
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures
• Perform additional technician and production duties as assigned

Aluminum TIG Welding

Aluminum TIG welding experience is preferred but extensive professional welding experience is not required.

Candidates may assist with:

• Aluminum TIG welding
• Weld preparation
• Component positioning
• Aluminum component assembly
• Basic fit-up
• Weld-area preparation and cleanup
• General fabrication support

Mechanical Assembly Responsibilities

Candidates may regularly perform:

• Heat exchanger assembly
• Mechanical component installation
• Fastener installation
• Component positioning

Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools are important for success in this position.

Entry-Level Welding Candidates

Candidates do not need extensive professional welding experience to be considered.

Strong candidates may include:

• Recent welding school graduates
• Candidates with TIG welding training
• Entry-level Welders with aluminum experience
• Mechanically inclined candidates with basic welding skills
• Candidates looking to develop additional hands-on fabrication experience

A strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and willingness to learn are important.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling as required
• Repetitive hand and arm movements during assembly and fabrication
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for tool and welding work
• Comfortable performing hands-on mechanical and production tasks throughout extended shifts
• Ability to safely work around welding and manufacturing equipment
• Ability to wear all required PPE

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and fabrication environment
• Position assigned to the Heat Exchanger Department
• Regular work involving aluminum components, hand tools, assembly equipment, and welding processes
• Current extended schedule of Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Mandatory overtime currently required due to production demands
• Schedule expected to return to 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM when production requirements decrease
• Strong emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, and dependable attendance
