Job Summary:
- Performs basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacement, and multi-point inspections. Works under senior technicians.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacement, and multi-point inspections.
- Use diagnostic tools, scanners, and software to identify and resolve issues accurately.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections and road tests to verify repairs.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review and verify repair work when necessary.
- Work closely with service advisors to communicate repair needs and timelines.
- Help prioritize workflow and improve shop productivity.
- Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Own tools (basic set).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- ASE G1 (Maintenance & Light Repair) — helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level.
