Our client, a well-established automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all operations at its Shelby Township manufacturing facility. This executive leadership role carries full P&L responsibility and is ideal for a proven manufacturing leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume production environments.

The General Manager will provide strategic direction while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, employee engagement, safety, quality, and financial performance.
What You'll Do
  • Provide overall leadership for all manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and profitability goals are achieved.
  • Assume full responsibility for the facility's P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial results.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead and develop production, operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and technical teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure customer quality expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Develop long-term strategies for equipment, plant layout, capital improvements, and operational growth.
  • Establish workforce plans to support production demands while maximizing efficiency.
  • Support new product launches and manufacturing readiness.
  • Conduct regular employee meetings and communicate company initiatives, customer expectations, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain a world-class manufacturing environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop all operational departments.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain top talent.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Hold leadership teams accountable for performance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations in accordance with company policies.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 10+ years leading operations, production, and technical teams.
  • Previous experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing is required.
  • Demonstrated success managing full P&L responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to interpret financial metrics and use data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience leading large cross-functional teams through growth and change.
