    Reports to: Senior Operating Leader

    Position Overview


    The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, lead and develop employees, and drive improvements in performance, accountability, and execution.

    This leader will work closely with senior leadership to strengthen the existing operation while supporting long-term growth and expansion into new markets.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and develop a team of employees
    • Oversee daily operations and business performance
    • Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing personnel
    • Strengthen accountability, processes, and operational efficiency
    • Improve productivity and drive measurable business results
    • Manage personnel challenges and resolve operational issues
    • Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives
    • Support geographic expansion and organizational growth


    Required Qualifications

    • Demonstrated leadership experience with real responsibility for people, performance, and outcomes.
    • Experience operating through adversity or ambiguity, ideally including taking over a team, unit, operation, or function that needed stronger leadership and structure.
    • Ability to build and manage teams, including recruiting, hiring, setting expectations, coaching, and making difficult personnel decisions.
    • Comfort leading experienced frontline employees who may have strong personalities, long tenure, and established ways of doing things.
    • Strong ownership mentality and willingness to treat the operation as a business to be improved, not simply a job to be maintained.
    • Sound judgment and composure in an environment where unexpected issues can arise outside traditional working hours.
    • High self-awareness and humility - able to admit when someone else has deeper subject-matter expertise and learn from employees at every level.
    • Competitive, results-oriented mindset paired with a collaborative, high-energy leadership style.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or other strong educational foundation; an MBA or advanced business education would be attractive but is not required.
    • Business acumen, operational problem-solving, or exposure to budgeting / P&L concepts. Prior direct P&L ownership is helpful but not mandatory.
    • Experience in field operations, home services, logistics, transportation, industrial services, multi-shift operations, or another operationally intensive environment can translate well.
    • Direct vehicle-recovery industry experience is not required and is not the primary selection criterion.


    Work Environment & Travel


    This is an on-site leadership position in St. Louis, Missouri, with occasional responsibilities outside traditional business hours and potential travel as the organization expands.


    Compensation


    Base Salary: Approximately $120K

    Bonus: $50K–$60K target annual bonus

    Growth Opportunities: Significant potential for advancement into regional and senior leadership positions as the organization expands.
