General Manager: Property Management

Salary: $100,000 annually
About the Opportunity
A growing New England-based property and community association management company is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a team of approximately 10 employees, and ensure exceptional service delivery across a portfolio of residential communities.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on operational excellence, team development, financial oversight, vendor management, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations for a portfolio of community associations
Manage, coach, and develop a team of property managers, finance, and support staff
Monitor service levels, response times, work orders, and operational performance metrics
Oversee vendor relationships, bidding processes, contracts, and maintenance programs
Ensure accuracy of financial reporting, budgeting, AP/AR, collections, and annual planning
Serve as the primary escalation point for boards, homeowners, and vendors
Improve processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies
Personally manage a small portfolio of associations and attend board meetings as needed
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of property management or community association management experience
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, vendor management, and collections
Experience managing association boards and homeowner communications
Knowledge of Massachusetts condominium/association regulations
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience with property management software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Preferred:
CMCA, AMS, or PCAM designation
Massachusetts Real Estate License
Experience with capital improvement projects and construction oversight
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Work Environment
This position is based in Marlborough, MA and requires regular travel to properties and board meetings throughout New England. Some evening meetings and occasional emergency response support may be required.
