    Description

    MAU is hiring a General Manager - Logistics & Distribution in Loudon, TN. As a General Manager, you will oversee site-wide logistics and distribution operations, driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and team performance while serving as the primary liaison between MAU and customer leadership.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelors Degree, or 6 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree

    General Requirements

    • Direct supervision of shift leadership and 20-40 hourly employees; manages approximately 25 employees across 2 departments
    • Strong leadership, decision-making, and results-driven approach
    • Strategic thinking with a strong customer/client focus
    • Skilled in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and lean principles
    • Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills
    • Financial management and business acumen
    • Strong presentation and cross-level communication skills
    • Flexibility and technical capacity to adapt in a fast-paced environment
    • Ethical conduct and personal effectiveness/credibility, as required of all MAU staff

    Essential Functions

    • Serve as the primary point of contact with the customers senior management team, ensuring consistent communication and site-specific policy compliance
    • Drive a site-wide safety culture focused on achieving zero accidents, supporting continuous improvement of safety processes, training, and safe operating procedures
    • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues using lean tools, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed
    • Deliver clear, motivating communication across all levels of the organization, coaching associates to improve production and job satisfaction
    • Provide 24/7 on-call crisis management support for personnel injury, property damage, and conflict resolution
    • Interface between customer and MAU leadership, conducting monthly/quarterly performance reviews and supporting short- and long-term projects
    • Track and report OSHA 300 logs and PO billing
    • Oversee talent management, including screening, interviewing, hiring recommendations, coaching, and disciplinary actions for leadership, training, and administrative staff
    • Compile, authorize, and submit payroll for the full-time regular team while ensuring consistent administration of MAU policies

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Work is performed in customer facility administrative and manufacturing environments, using standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, fax machines)
    • Exposure to process manufacturing equipment and heavy power industrial vehicles
    • Environments range from non-temperature-controlled areas to GMP clean rooms

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to walk up to 6 miles daily
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

    Travel

    • Up to 5% travel required
