Tucked away in the heart of Sonoma Valley, Kenwood Inn & Spa is an intimate, Mediterranean-inspired luxury hotel featuring 30 guestrooms and suites, beautiful gardens and courtyards, two pools, and an on-site spa. Part of the Four Sisters Inns collection, Kenwood offers a distinctive setting where hospitality is personal, attention to detail matters, and the people behind the experience make all the difference.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager who combines strong operational leadership and financial acumen with a genuine commitment to developing people. At Kenwood, you'll lead a close-knit, dedicated team that takes pride in the property, supports one another, and shares a commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
At Four Sisters Inns, we believe that a strong culture is the foundation of a successful hotel. Creating an environment where employees feel respected, supported, empowered, and accountable is one of the most important responsibilities of a General Manager. We're looking for a leader who understands that taking care of employees is just as important as taking care of guests, and that one naturally leads to the other.
What You'll Do
Lead all aspects of daily hotel and spa operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen service, and retail marketplace offerings.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to do their best work.
Develop assistant managers and department leaders through coaching, clear expectations, regular communication, and hands-on support, encouraging independent decision-making and professional growth.
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll review for hotel and spa teams.
Manage spa operations, including treatment and provider scheduling, service standards, supplies, and retail inventory.
Oversee purchasing, ordering, and inventory for food, beer, wine, marketplace merchandise, spa products, and operating supplies.
Manage budgets, payroll, and operating expenses; review financial performance and adjust staffing and spending to business levels while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Oversee property-level accounting and administration, including invoice review and coding, OTA invoice reconciliation, billing accuracy, cash controls, and timely reporting in partnership with Accounting.
Coordinate maintenance staff and qualified vendors to ensure the care and upkeep of the property's buildings, landscaped grounds, septic systems, and two pools, including water chemistry, equipment function, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
Maintain high standards for hospitality, cleanliness, safety, and food service, resolving guest and employee concerns with professionalism, care, and consistent follow-through.
Work closely with regional and home office leadership, contributing ideas, sharing best practices, and collaborating on initiatives that strengthen the hotel and the company.
Represent Kenwood Inn & Spa within the local hospitality and tourism community, building positive relationships with local businesses and partners.
What You'll Bring
Hotel general management or substantial hotel operations leadership experience, preferably in a boutique or luxury setting, with experience overseeing spa operations.
Strong business and financial acumen, including payroll management, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and property-level accounting.
A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees while creating a positive workplace culture built on mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.
An approachable, hands-on leadership style with the confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and support employees without micromanaging.
Experience coordinating maintenance teams and service providers across a property with varied facilities and operating systems.
Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and proficiency with hotel systems and technology.
Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment when working with guests, employees, ownership, business partners, and community leaders.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and availability to respond to urgent property matters outside scheduled hours.
