General Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Kansas City, MO area. Our client is seeking an operations or general management leader to drive safety, production, and business performance.

Position Responsibilities:

- Lead day-to-day operations across shop and/or field teams

- Drive safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance

- Develop operating plans, budgets, and KPIs

- Lead and develop managers and supervisors

- Partner with sales, estimating, and project management on growth

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Monitor operating metrics and financial results

- Plan capacity, staffing, and equipment

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives

- Resolve escalated operational and customer issues

- Report results to ownership and executive leadership

Position Skills:

- 7+ years of operations leadership in steel fabrication, erection, metal buildings, or construction

- Profit and loss responsibility a plus for general management roles

- Strong financial and planning skills

- Strong safety leadership; OSHA 30 a plus

- Bachelor's degree preferred
