    Location: Northeast Houston Compensation: Starting at $20.00 per hour 

    Schedule: Full-Time | 7 Days a Week | 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of operational management in retail, service, automotive, hospitality, or similar industries


    POSITION OVERVIEW

    A growing hand car wash and automotive detailing operation is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations, develop staff, improve systems, and help build a scalable business model. This is not a corporate office role—this is active, on-site operational leadership.

    The ideal candidate understands how to run a service-based business, manage labor, drive revenue, and create a consistent customer experience. This role is designed for a leader who can help transition an owner-driven operation into a professionally managed, growth-ready organization.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Daily Operations

    • Oversee full facility operations
    • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures
    • Monitor customer traffic and workflow
    • Manage wait times and vehicle movement
    • Inspect completed vehicles for quality
    • Resolve operational issues promptly

    Employee Management

    • Recruit, interview, and hire staff
    • Conduct onboarding and training
    • Create and adjust schedules based on business volume
    • Monitor attendance and productivity
    • Coach employees and administer corrective action
    • Develop future team leaders and assistant managers

    Labor & Financial Oversight

    • Review daily sales and labor usage
    • Control overtime and unnecessary labor costs
    • Manage supply usage and reduce waste
    • Identify operational or financial issues

    Customer Service

    • Maintain professional customer interactions
    • Resolve escalated concerns
    • Protect customer vehicles and property
    • Support customer retention and satisfaction

    Sales & Revenue Development

    • Promote memberships and repeat business
    • Train staff on upselling services
    • Support promotional campaigns
    • Build fleet and commercial relationships

    Marketing & Community Engagement

    • Participate in local events and outreach
    • Distribute promotional materials
    • Support social media and marketing initiatives
    • Represent the business professionally in the community

    Mobile Detailing Coordination

    • Schedule mobile jobs
    • Prepare and supervise mobile teams
    • Visit customer and fleet locations when needed

    Facility Management

    Ensure all areas remain clean, organized, and professional, including:

    • Service bays
    • Lobby and waiting areas
    • Restrooms
    • Detail and vacuum areas
    • Chemical storage
    • Parking lot and exterior grounds

    FIRST 90 DAYS EXPECTATIONS

    Days 1–30: Learn & Audit Understand employees, systems, inventory, procedures, and current challenges.

    Days 31–60: Implement Improve scheduling, accountability, training, facility standards, and customer service.

    Days 61–90: Stabilize & Grow Show measurable progress in operations, sales, memberships, labor efficiency, and SOP execution.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of progressive management experience
    • Strong employee supervision and hiring background
    • Scheduling and labor-management experience
    • Experience with revenue metrics or business performance
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors
    • Reliable transportation
    • Ability to meet applicable pre-employment requirements
    • Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule
