POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel. He/she should be an ambassador for the brand and the hotel, provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximize operations and drive profits while growing market share.
Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments.
Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget.
Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue, RevPAR, and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and make decisions accordingly.
Prepare a weekly report of operations
Act as a final decision maker in hiring of key staff members
Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
PREREQUISITES:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding, management skills and extensive hands-on experience with a track record of success. Previous brand specific experience, in a similar role is highly desired, but not required.
EDUCATION:
A degree in hospitality management is preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a hotel GM, Assistant GM or in a leadership role with equivalent responsibility is required. Experience using Lightspeed PMS is required. Experience using M3 Financial software, running payroll and recruiting is required.
