General Manager | Daydreamer - Austin, TX (Multi-Location)

Daydreamer Coffee is looking for an experienced, versatile General Manager to lead our Austin market, the flagship market for our residential and mixed-use lobby coffee concept. This role is unlike a typical single-cafe GM position: you'll oversee three distinct locations across three different formats, each with its own community, rhythm, and operational demands. The Locations You'll Oversee

Rambler Austin (West Campus, our original Austin location) — Located inside student housing near the University of Texas at Austin, serving residents, students, and the surrounding campus community.

Paseo on Rainey Street — Located in the lobby of the Paseo building, our busiest location — serving residents, the general public, and the steady foot traffic of the Rainey Street district. Paseo also offers wine service and a small grab-and-go fridge stocked with snacks, light food options, and bottled beverages for residents and customers.

The Rainey Street Trailer — Our newest addition, a trailer-based concept on Rainey Street, bringing Daydreamer's coffee program to a walk-up, high-energy outdoor format.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day success of all three locations, ensuring every customer, whether a resident, a student, or a visitor grabbing coffee, gets the same exceptional Daydreamer experience. You won't be doing it alone: you'll have the support of an Assistant General Manager and a team of shift leads. Together, you'll partner with each property's on-site teams (student housing management at Rambler Austin and the Paseo leasing office) and be the connective tissue that keeps quality, culture, and standards consistent across three very different environments.

Responsibilities

• Multi-Site Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and motivate a team of baristas and shift leads across all three locations, ensuring adequate staffing during peak and off-peak hours at each site.
• Cross-Location Operations: Oversee daily operations at each location, which includes inventory management, ordering supplies, equipment upkeep, and maintaining a clean, organized environment appropriate to each format (cafe, lobby, and trailer).
• Property & Resident Relations: Build strong working relationships with the Rambler Austin student housing team and the Paseo building/leasing office, ensuring residents, students, and future residents have an excellent experience at every touchpoint.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional service across all locations, addressing customer concerns and creating a welcoming environment whether the guest is a resident, a student, or a customer just walking in.
• Quality Control & Brand Consistency: Maintain consistent, high-quality standards for coffee and food across three different physical formats, including wine service and grab-and-go offerings at Paseo, and collaborate on menu updates that work across the portfolio.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all health, safety, and food handling guidelines are followed at every location, and that wine service at Paseo is managed in full compliance with local and state alcohol regulations (TABC certification required for staff pouring wine).
• Financial & Inventory Oversight: Support cost controls, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting across all three locations — including beverage and grab-and-go stock at Paseo — helping ownership understand performance site by site.
• Cross-Location Coordination: Regularly travel between all three Austin locations, serving as the visible, consistent leadership presence that keeps culture and standards aligned across the market.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly motivated, experienced General Manager with strong leadership skills, a true passion for hospitality, and — ideally — experience managing more than one location or team at once. You should be comfortable moving between different environments in a single day, adapting your approach to a university-focused café, a high-volume lobby location, and a walk-up trailer, all while keeping the same standard of quality and service everywhere you go.

Requirements

• Barista: 1+ years (Required)
• Supervisory / Management: 1+ years, multi-location experience preferred (Required)
• Hospitality: 2+ years (Required)
• TABC Certification and Food Manager Certification: Current certification or ability to obtain before start date (TABC is required for wine service at Paseo)
