JL Hospitality Management is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead Aspen Suites Hotel Fairbanks. We’re looking for an experienced hotel leader who takes ownership, builds a strong team, and understands how to balance guest service, property standards, and financial performance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Maintain property standards and follow JL Hospitality Management policies and operating procedures.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop associates and department leaders.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and hold your team accountable.
- Monitor guest feedback, resolve concerns promptly, and identify opportunities to improve service.
- Manage budgets, staffing, labor costs, and operating expenses to meet financial goals.
- Review financial reports and take action to improve profitability, occupancy, and revenue per available room (RevPAR).
- Partner with the sales team to grow business and build relationships with local businesses and the community.
- Keep the property clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of related hotel management experience.
- A proven record of leading hotel operations and achieving financial goals.
- Previous General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience at a select-service or extended-stay hotel preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
- Working knowledge of hotel budgets, financial statements, labor management, and cost controls.
- Strong communication, organization, guest service, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow through in a busy hotel environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel operating systems.
Schedule
Hotel operations run seven days a week. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
