ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors is seeking a General Maintenance Worker in support of our Sheppard AFB Base Operations Support Contract Located in Wichita Falls, TX.

Overview:

Performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair to include carpentry, basic sheet metal, basic electrical, basic plumbing, basic masonry, and basic lock repair. Works on SMART teams or alone to respond to maintenance and repair of dormitories, dining facilities, administrative facilities, classrooms, etc. May be assigned to operate the Do-It -Now truck, providing emergency response. Complete other duties as assigned to support the customer and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Multi-skilled craftsman that performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, and repair basic locks and panic hardware. Expected to be a well-rounded handyman capable of performing numerous types of repairs to base facilities.
  • Full range carpentry duties to include structural and finish carpentry, installation of wallboard, doors, windows, roofing material, flooring, flashings, siding, tile, masonry, cabinetry, vinyl and wood trim, builders hardware, etc.
  • Basic electrical tasks to include replacing electric light fixtures, receptacles, switches, motors, running simple circuits, etc.
  • Basic plumbing tasks to include replacing flush valves, faucets, valves, repairing copper or plastic pipe, replacing garbage disposals, clearing clogged drains, unstopping commodes, etc.
  • Masonry work to include installing, repairing, patching concrete, ceramic tile, masonry units, etc. Concrete work may include pouring sidewalks, footings, slabs, etc.
  • Perform minor sheet metal work, such as adjusting overhead doors, making and installing ducts and flashings, if needed.
  • Make minor repairs to carpet or wall coverings, if needed.
  • Perform minor touchup painting, if needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Five (5) years experience in the building trades
  • Must have the ability to work extended periods of times, shift work, and on-call when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a US or Permanent Citizen due to contract requirements
