The Job
San Bernardino County is recruiting for General Maintenance Workers who perform semi-skilled work in a variety of fields in the maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, equipment, and related facilities. General Maintenance Workers typically act as assistants to skilled technicians in the Craft, Labor and Trades occupations, and perform maintenance and repair on less complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
The current vacancy is at San Bernardino County Museum. Positions assigned to museum facilities perform maintenance work within a public-facing environment that includes exhibit galleries and program spaces. Incumbents must interact professionally with visitors and staff, and perform duties in a manner that minimizes disruption to the visitor experience. Work requires coordination with curatorial, exhibits, and education staff to ensure appropriate access, scheduling, and use of museum spaces. Incumbents may also provide support for special events, facility rentals, and public programs, including basic setup and breakdown of equipment, furniture, and spaces.
The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill other vacancies throughout the San Bernardino County as they occur.
