General Maintenance Technician III - 1st Shift
Location: Rio Rancho, NM | Pay Rate: $29.33/hr | 6-Month Temp-to-Hire
About the Role
Join a dynamic Operations & Maintenance team as a General Maintenance Technician III in a high-tech manufacturing environment. You'll provide intermediate-level expertise in troubleshooting, emergency response, and preventive maintenance for building equipment, fixtures, and systems-including state-of-the-art clean rooms. This multi-craft role offers you the chance to expand your skills while working with minimal supervision and supporting a variety of trades.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to work orders and perform emergency, preventive, and corrective maintenance on building and production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, pumps, hydraulic systems, water systems, and compressed air/gas distribution
- Conduct equipment inspections, diagnose failures, and implement solutions to minimize downtime
- Perform general repairs in carpentry, painting, and sheet metal as assigned
- Complete planned maintenance procedures and maintain detailed records in the CMMS
- Support installation, inspection, and commissioning of new equipment and renovations
- Collaborate with co-workers, contractors, and engineers to deliver project outcomes
- Uphold all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements, including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
- Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-4 years' experience in general maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities across facility systems
- Familiarity with basic electrical repairs and preventive maintenance
- Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and computer use (including Microsoft Office)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety guidelines
- Physically able to climb ladders, lift materials, and perform repetitive movements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree or trade school certification in Industrial Electrical, Mechanical, Technology, HVAC, or related field
- Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory and EPA guidelines
- Experience with clean room environments
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience maintaining inventory and supporting new equipment installations
