A bit about us:

A premier law firm is seeking a talented General Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling complex civil litigation matters and will enjoy taking ownership of cases while working closely with experienced attorneys. Experience with trust and estates litigation is a strong plus.

Job Details

Manage a diverse caseload of litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and factual investigations
Handle all phases of discovery, including document review, interrogatories, and depositions
Prepare for and attend court appearances, conferences, mediations, and hearings
Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy and developments
Develop litigation strategies and evaluate risk exposure
Negotiate settlements and dispute resolutions when appropriate
Collaborate with partners and support staff to efficiently manage client matters

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
3+ years of civil litigation experience
Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
Experience handling depositions and court appearances
Ability to independently manage assigned matters
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities
Trust and estates litigation experience preferred but not required
