Job Title: General Laborer – Rework Operator
Job Description
The General Laborer – Rework Operator plays a key role in warehouse operations by inspecting, repairing, and reworking steel tube and related materials that do not initially meet quality or shipping standards. You will begin on a first-shift training assignment in warehouse rework for approximately 1–3 months, depending on how quickly you master the tasks, and then transition to an assigned shift in either the warehouse or general production. This position directly supports product accuracy, quality, and on‑time delivery to customers in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in an industrial, high-speed steel manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically in the warehouse area of an east building. You will train on first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then move to an assigned shift, which may include second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The facility operates tube mills, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment, and work must be performed efficiently and safely under time-sensitive conditions. The job is physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing, frequent lifting of materials weighing 50 pounds or more, and regular exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations. Some areas, particularly shipping and receiving, can be cold and drafty during winter months. Teamwork is central to daily operations, with regular collaboration across departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping to meet production and shipping goals. Appropriate industrial work attire and safety footwear are expected to support safe and effective performance in this environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
