Description

Rockwell Senior Living | Milton, PA | In person

Rockwell Senior Living is hiring a dependable, hands-on team member to help improve and maintain our senior living community. We have a substantial painting backlog and a variety of general labor projects. If you already paint well, take pride in a neat finish, and want to learn additional maintenance skills, we would like to hear from you.

Painting is a core part of this role and the standing assignment whenever other approved tasks are complete. You must be comfortable spending substantial portions of your workweek painting and preparing surfaces. Broader maintenance skills can be learned on the job under direction.

What you will do

  • Prepare and paint resident rooms, vacant apartments, hallways, doors, trim, and common areas; clean surfaces, patch small holes, sand, caulk, prime, cut in, roll, and touch up.
  • Produce clean lines and even coverage while protecting floors, furniture, fixtures, and residents' belongings; clean and store tools after each job.
  • Help prepare vacant rooms for move-ins, move furniture and supplies, assemble furniture, carts, and shelving, and remove approved project debris.
  • Assist with grounds cleanup, seasonal tasks, storage organization, deliveries, and supply pickups.
  • Learn and complete assigned basic maintenance tasks within your training; assist experienced maintenance staff and outside contractors.
  • Follow a daily work list, record progress and materials needed, report problems promptly, and move to the next approved painting task when other work is finished.
  • Work courteously around older adults; follow room-entry, privacy, ventilation, tool-storage, and work-area safety procedures.

What we are looking for

  • Proven hands-on painting ability, including surface preparation, patching, cutting in, rolling, and cleanup. Painting experience is required; broader maintenance experience is helpful.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet employer driving requirements for assigned supply pickups and work errands.
  • Dependability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to follow written or digital instructions with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools safely and perform the role's essential physical tasks, including standing, bending, reaching, moving materials, and using ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use team lifting and equipment for heavy items.
  • Respect for residents and coworkers, and completion of applicable pre-employment screening.

How to apply

Apply with a resume or brief work history describing your painting experience and the maintenance skills you would like to learn. Photos of previous painting work are welcome. Finalists may be invited to a short, paid painting skills demonstration.
