    Position Summary

    Perform processes to attach components on aerial ladders using a variety of hand and power tools.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. grinding applications using manual and power tools.

    • Install rung lights and rung covers.
    • Install retractable shields
    • Install cylinders, oil lines, hoses
    • Install breathing air system
    • Attach load chart gauge
    • Mount tracking lights and other lights as required per order
    • Install intercom system
    • Pull E-chain and test
    • Pull wires
    • Grease bottom of section and inner ladder track, sheaves and travelers
    • Install grease zert covers
    • Install logic box/monitor switch box
    • Install water pan and waterway
    • Wire according to electrical master (monitor, nozzle switches, tip lights, 110 lights, 110 outlet, warning lights, proxes or intercom
    • Operate overhead crane and forklift as directed
    • Load ladder on trucks using overhead crane
    • Obtain UL inspections

    Experience, Education & Essential Functions

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 1-2 years manufacturing/industrial environment

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Graduate or Equivalent

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Standing approximately 60% of the time
    • Crouch/Squatting approximately 20% of the time
    • Sitting approximately 15% of the time
    • Lying on crawler doing overhead work 5% of the time.
    • Regularly lift/move 10 pounds, frequently lift/move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
    • Regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, reach and look upwards
    • Must be able to climb onto trucks/ladders and perform work
    • Work in shop environment of dust and loudness
    • Work in hot and cold extreme weather at times
    • Mandatory overtime when notified – early hours/late hours
    • Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor

    Knowledge, Skill, Abilities & Certification Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools
    • Knowledge of assembly and measuring tools
    • Knowledge of basic electrical
    • Ability to read a tape measure
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform simple math
    • Able to follow instructions
    • Adhere to all company policies

    CERTIFICATION:

    • Overhead Crane Certified

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position is in a general shop and sometimes outside, and it has access to all welfare facilities. In some cases, the temperature can be warmer or colder depending on the season. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. This position will be exposed to the elements and will have to prepare themselves with the right equipment to ensure safety.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This position requires standing and walking for the majority of the shift. During shifts, some projects require the use of feet, hands, and fingers for over 60 minutes at a time. Depending on the season, different protective apparel will be required. The use of knees, legs, back, shoulders, and arms can vary from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. This position requires reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to complete job tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
