Position: General Laborer – ConstructionJob Type: Full-timeReports To: Foreman / Project Supervisor
Job Summary
The General Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction projects. This position assists skilled tradespeople, maintains a clean and safe jobsite, handles materials and tools, and follows all company and OSHA safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials and equipment.
- Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, concrete workers, and other trades as directed.
- Perform general site cleanup, including removing debris and maintaining organized work areas.
- Use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
- Perform other manual labor as needed.
- Set up and remove temporary structures, barriers, and jobsite materials.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, lifting, and positioning materials.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced crew members.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite procedures.
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous construction or general labor experience preferred but not always required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
- Basic understanding of construction tools and safety practices is a plus.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred where applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing approximately 50 pounds or more, depending on job requirements.
- Ability to work safely around construction equipment, vehicles, heights, dust, noise, and other jobsite hazards.
