General Laborer

Will work in a lab environment to: Clean, wash, sanitize, and sterilize animal cages, racks, bottles, and related equipment using facility-approved procedures and equipment. General laborers needed to help a campus department with facility care in Athens, Ohio.

Summary:
General laborers needed to help a campus department with facility care in Athens, Ohio. Will work in a lab environment to:

• Clean, wash, sanitize, and sterilize animal cages, racks, bottles, and related equipment using facility-approved procedures and equipment.
• Operate cage washing, autoclave, and sanitization equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assemble and prepare clean cages and supplies for use by animal care staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage rooms, and support spaces.
• Support other facility operations as assigned.

This is a temporary, full-time position, hiring immediately and lasting four weeks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay is $16 per hour.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and push throughout the workday.
