General Labor

This position is responsible for sorting materials, preparing materials for baling, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and assisting with general yard operations, including occasional truck loading and unloading. The ideal candidate is physically capable of performing manual labor, works well in a team environment, and demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Position: General Labor

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Location: Stockton, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Overtime: Optional Saturday overtime


Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support daily operations in a busy industrial yard environment. This position is responsible for sorting materials, preparing materials for baling, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and assisting with general yard operations, including occasional truck loading and unloading.




The ideal candidate is physically capable of performing manual labor, works well in a team environment, and demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety. Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required.




Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort and organize materials to prepare them for processing through the baler.
• Feed and stage materials for baling operations according to established procedures.
• Assist with moving, separating, and organizing materials throughout the yard.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas around the yard and equipment.
• Perform general labor duties to support daily yard operations.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
• Move and stage materials to support efficient workflow and processing.
• Assist with maintaining designated storage and material-handling areas.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all company safety procedures and established material-handling guidelines.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support equipment operators and other yard personnel with assigned tasks.
• Assist with general cleanup, debris removal, and housekeeping responsibilities.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Perform additional general labor and yard support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous general labor, warehouse, recycling, industrial yard, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor throughout the workday.
• Ability to sort, move, and organize materials efficiently.
• Strong attention to workplace safety and established operating procedures.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependable with consistent and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to assist with various yard responsibilities.
• Ability to work an early morning schedule beginning at 6:00 AM.
• Availability for optional Saturday overtime is a plus.
