This is a full-time opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer.
Position Summary:
Northwest Hardwoods is seeking dependable, safety-focused General Laborers to support production operations at our Longview, WA facility. This position performs hands-on work throughout the mill, including handling lumber, maintaining product flow, cleaning work areas, operating equipment as trained, and cross-training in other production roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work safely and follow all NWH safety policies, procedures, and work rules
- Handle, sort, stack, and move lumber by dimension, species, and grade
- Support safe and efficient product flow throughout the production process
- Use hand tools, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to clean sawmill debris and maintain work areas
- Operate mobile equipment as trained and authorized
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and make quick, safe decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Cross-train in other production positions as needed
- Maintain good housekeeping and support a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work cooperatively with team members, supervisors, and other departments
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Strong commitment to safety
- Dependable with excellent attendance
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Willingness to learn, cross-train, and work in different areas of the facility
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
