Job Title: General Laborer
Location: Lamar, MO
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm
Summary of the Role:The General Laborer will work in a fast-paced sawmill environment assisting with cutting, handling, stacking, and moving lumber and other materials. This is a physically demanding position involving frequent heavy lifting and repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Candidates should be comfortable working around saws, machinery, and an active production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cutting and processing lumber and wood materials.
- Lift, carry, stack, and move heavy materials throughout the workday.
- Feed, remove, or organize materials around cutting and production equipment.
- Stack finished lumber and materials in designated areas.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials.
- Inspect materials for obvious defects or quality concerns.
- Maintain a steady production pace throughout the shift.
- Keep work areas clean and free of unnecessary debris.
- Follow all sawmill, machine, and workplace safety procedures.
- Wear required PPE and maintain awareness when working around saws and machinery.
- Assist with additional sawmill and general production duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working around saws and industrial cutting equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry, and stack materials throughout the workday.
- Strong awareness of workplace and machine safety.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous sawmill, lumber, construction, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred.
Compensation:$15.00 per hour
