We are hiring dependable and hardworking General Laborers to join a busy scrap metal recycling facility in Cleveland. This is a physically active position where you'll play a vital role in sorting materials, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting daily yard operations. No previous scrap industry experience is required—we will train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Sort and separate ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals
- Pick materials from conveyors, containers, and scrap piles
- Remove contaminants from scrap streams
- Shovel scrap, dirt, dust, and debris into designated areas or processing equipment
- Sweep and maintain clean, safe work areas throughout the facility
- Assist equipment operators with material movement and cleanup
- Load and unload materials using hand tools such as shovels, brooms, and magnets
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Support daily housekeeping and material flow throughout the operation
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team
- Manufacturing, warehouse, construction, demolition, landscaping, foundry, recycling, or labor experience is a plus
- Safety-focused mindset
