Kelso Southwest Fis seeking an experienced Process Piping General Foreman to lead self-performing piping crews supporting advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and mission-critical construction projects in the Phoenix market.
This position requires extensive hands-on experience installing and supervising industrial process piping and high-purity piping systems, including stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, and polypropylene/polyethylene piping.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in process piping fabrication, installation, orbital welding, TIG welding, and fusion welding, combined with proven experience managing field crews, manpower, production schedules, safety, and quality.
This is a process piping leadership position, not a traditional commercial HVAC or plumbing foreman role.
Lead, supervise, and coordinate self-performing process piping crews, including foremen, pipefitters, welders, and apprentices.
Direct daily field operations involving the fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning support of process piping and high-purity systems.
Oversee installation of stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, polypropylene, polyethylene, and other specialized process piping materials.
Supervise specialized piping installation and joining methods, including orbital welding, TIG welding, butt fusion, socket fusion, and other approved joining processes.
Ensure proper installation practices for high-purity, clean, and contamination-sensitive piping systems.
Read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics, specifications, and installation procedures.
Develop daily and weekly work plans, coordinate manpower, and establish production expectations to meet project milestones.
Coordinate piping fabrication, material staging, equipment, tools, and installation sequencing to maximize field productivity.
Monitor installation quality, weld procedures, inspection requirements, testing, and compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, QA/QC, Safety, engineering teams, and other trades to resolve technical and construction challenges.
Enforce jobsite safety requirements, including hot work, confined spaces, elevated work, rigging, and other process piping installation hazards.
Track crew productivity, identify potential schedule impacts, and communicate manpower and material needs to project leadership.
Mentor foremen, journeymen, and apprentices while promoting technical development, accountability, and high-quality workmanship.
7+ years of industrial or commercial process piping experience, including demonstrated field leadership as a General Foreman or Foreman.
Direct experience installing and supervising process piping systems, preferably in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other technically demanding industrial facilities.
Strong working knowledge of high-purity piping installation, fabrication, handling, and quality requirements.
Practical experience with orbital welding, TIG welding, and fusion welding processes.
Experience working with stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, and plastic process piping systems.
Proven ability to supervise self-performing pipefitters, welders, and piping installation crews.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, piping specifications, and installation documentation.
Strong understanding of piping installation methods, weld quality, testing procedures, and construction quality standards.
Demonstrated experience with manpower planning, production tracking, crew coordination, and field execution.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to maintain a safe, productive jobsite.
Experience supporting semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, or high-purity industrial processing facilities.
Experience with high-purity stainless steel tubing, orbital welding systems, and contamination-control procedures.
Familiarity with process utilities, specialty gases, chemical distribution, or other specialized manufacturing piping systems.
Experience with HDPE, polypropylene, PVDF, or similar thermoplastic piping materials and fusion installation methods.
Experience coordinating piping installations requiring specialized inspection, pressure testing, leak testing, or system cleanliness verification.
Previous experience leading multiple piping crews or supervising foremen on large-scale industrial construction projects.
Experience working in fast-paced environments with aggressive construction schedules and demanding quality requirements.
The successful candidate is an experienced process piping professional who has progressed through the trade and understands the technical and operational demands of industrial piping installation.
They must be comfortable leading crews in the field, troubleshooting complex piping installations, coordinating specialized welding and fusion activities, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
