    Description:

    Substitute for General Food Service Worker

    Schedule as needed

    Job Summary:

    • Prepare cold food and pre-made items for serving of food.
    • Set up and replenish food serving areas in compliance with the serving requirements of the federal meal program.
    • Provide friendly, courteous service efficiently to all customers.
    • Maintain operation of vending machines
    • Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with locally and federally established health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
    • Operate food service equipment.
    • Clean and sanitize meal service, prep, and storage areas, as well as kitchen equipment and smallwares.
    • Maintain logs and records, as applicable to daily tasks.
    • Perform routine cashiering duties.
    • Complete regular training and attend in-service meetings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrate good organizational skills
    • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task
    • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Demonstrate strong cashiering skills
    • Hold an Illinois Food Handler license
    • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift weight up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and making change.
