Description:
Substitute for General Food Service Worker
Schedule as needed
Job Summary:
- Prepare cold food and pre-made items for serving of food.
- Set up and replenish food serving areas in compliance with the serving requirements of the federal meal program.
- Provide friendly, courteous service efficiently to all customers.
- Maintain operation of vending machines
- Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with locally and federally established health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Operate food service equipment.
- Clean and sanitize meal service, prep, and storage areas, as well as kitchen equipment and smallwares.
- Maintain logs and records, as applicable to daily tasks.
- Perform routine cashiering duties.
- Complete regular training and attend in-service meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate good organizational skills
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrate strong cashiering skills
- Hold an Illinois Food Handler license
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift weight up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and making change.
