This position requires at least a bachelors degree in mathematics or computer science or physics or aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or electronics engineering and demonstrated skill and experience in advanced computer data processing methods.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE GS POSITIONS Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level required within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR) UTTR mission is to provide war fighters with a realistic training environment and conduct DOD Test & Evaluation (OT&E), including tactical development and evaluation, supporting large footprint weapon systems to enhance combat readiness, superiority, and sustainability.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION This position is a developmental (e.g., GS-09 Target GS-12) position. This position may be filled at any grade level. Individual selected may be promoted without further competition upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Starting salary indicated on this vacancy announcement is for the GS-09. Attainment of knowledge, skills, and abilities is required before promotion to the next higher grade and is dependent on demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the next higher grade level, meeting all regulatory requirements, and recommendation for promotion by the supervisor. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. This position may be subject to a formalized training program. Pay retention of 150% of the maximum rate of the basic pay is authorized for candidates requesting a Voluntary Change to a lower grade. Military Spouse candidates exercising their preference will be placed at the full performance level if considered to be best qualified and selected.
