Between patients, you'll document treatment notes, review X-rays, and coordinate with the front office on treatment plans and referrals. General Dentist Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental care to patients of varying ages, including exams, cleanings, and preventive treatments
- Diagnose oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Perform general dentistry procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, and root canals
- Review patient dental and medical histories to guide treatment decisions
- Read X-rays and other diagnostic imaging to assess oral health
- Administer local anesthesia and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment options
- Refer patients to specialists when advanced or specialized dental care is needed

General Dentist Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
- Active, valid dental license in good standing as required by the state of Arizona
- Strong clinical skills across a broad range of general dentistry procedures
- Excellent communication skills with patients and coworkers
- A patient, empathetic approach that helps put patients at ease
- Comfort using dental practice software and diagnostic imaging systems
- A professional approach to patient confidentiality and safety
- CPR certification, as required
