About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to be its senior legal leader and trusted advisor. This pivotal role involves building and overseeing a scalable legal function that supports the company's growth, multi-site operations, brand protection, commercial strategy, and employee-facing risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic risk and governance, including overseeing a global portfolio of trademarks, leading legal strategy for various compliance areas, and managing board governance. Additionally, the General Counsel will be instrumental in legal operations and technology, implementing tools to handle high-volume legal tasks, and will play a key role in commercial negotiation, particularly for brand collaborations and licensing deals.Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have 8-12+ years of legal practice, with a strong preference for those with in-house experience at a consumer, hospitality, experiential, or multi-unit retail brand. The role requires a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, active bar membership, and a proven track record in legal management. The ideal candidate will be adept at modern legal management tools and have a genuine interest in using technology to optimize legal services. Key skills include commercial negotiation, people and employment risk management, and experience in building and managing outside counsel relationships.
