    Position: AI Consultant

    Location: Durham, NC (5 days)

    Experience: 8 to 15 years

    Job Summary:

    Facilitation and mentorship

    • Plan and facilitate weekly war room sessions, from rehearsal drills and the end to end dry run through live use case builds.
    • Lead use case framing with business owners using a structured canvas, and apply agreed selection tests before any build starts.
    • Coach client interns to build working prototypes on Microsoft Copilot from problem framing through build, demo rehearsal and the demo itself.
    • Prepare and run SME panel reviews and sign off gates, keeping the forward decision with the client's business owners.
    • Capture effort baselines at intake and measure time to answer improvements against them, so every benefit claim rests on the client's own numbers.
    • Shift coaching from leading to prompting over the programme: shadow a client facilitator, then advise only, through to the Day 90 handoff.

    Playbook and codification

    • Codify solve patterns, build patterns, prompt sets, role cards and decision gate criteria into the playbook, from version 0 at Day 30 to version 1 at week twelve.
    • Draft and maintain guardrails with the client's compliance function, including data tiers, tool rules and red line wording for payer and HCP data.
    • Maintain the working records of the programme: gate sheets, SME review records, intake checklists and the fortnightly codification pass.
    • Replace illustrative examples with worked client examples as use cases complete, and assemble the evidence pack for the Day 90 extension decision.

    What you bring

    • Hands on generative AI capability. You have built working prototypes with tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI or comparable platforms, and you can teach prompt design, output evaluation and prompt/output logging to non specialists.
    • Facilitation at senior level. You have planned and led structured workshops with directors and VPs, kept a room to a clock, and handled sponsors, business owners and reviewers with confidence.
    • Coaching and mentorship. You develop others rather than doing the work for them you have coached early career builders or client teams to independent capability.
    • Codification discipline. You write method down as it is proven: patterns, checklists, gate criteria and worked examples in plain, usable language.
    • Regulated industry judgement. You are comfortable working within pharmaceutical compliance boundaries HCP and patient data sensitivity, promotional review awareness, and the discipline of agreed guardrails.
    • Consulting fundamentals. Structured problem solving, baseline and benefits measurement, clear written and verbal communication, and comfort with ambiguity in week one.

    Preferred

    • Life sciences commercial domain exposure, market access, payer and formulary landscape, field or nurse access programmes.
    • Experience with AI governance or responsible AI frameworks in an enterprise setting.
    • Prior onsite or embedded client delivery in a co run operating model with a planned handover.
    • Familiarity with agentic AI patterns and enterprise AI readiness or adoption frameworks.

    Working arrangements

    • Full time onsite presence at the client's US location for the duration of the engagement; must hold current US work authorisation.
    • The role is delivery critical from day one: the programme launches in week one and the first gate falls at Day 30.
    • Extension beyond week twelve is possible, subject to the client's Day 90 decision.

    Salary/Rate:

    Subcon Rate: USD 75 USD 85

    Full-time: The pay range for this role is CAD125k CAD140k per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
