The GED Instructor will teach High School Equivalency (HSE) coursework and test preparation to frontline team members at a Tyson facility. The instructor will develop course materials, support student learning, and participate in program meetings, training sessions, recruitment events, and other activities to enhance student engagement and program success.
Teach High School Equivalency (HSE) subjects, including Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Prepare students for GED exams using effective instructional strategies and teaching methods.
Develop and prepare course materials and instructional resources.
Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on program requirements.
Participate in recruitment events and program activities.
Support culminating activities and engage with the student community.
Create a positive and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of teaching strategies and instructional methods for Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with native-like fluency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Teaching, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience teaching High School Equivalency courses in adult education.
Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to provide clear instructions and explanations.
Proficiency in a second language to support communication with students from diverse backgrounds.
Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with students from different cultural backgrounds.
Strong technology skills and experience integrating technology into instruction.
