Job Description:

Dewberry is seeking a GEC ITS Project Manager in our Orlando, FL office to serve on our General Engineering Consultant contract with the Central Florida Expressway (CFX). This is an excellent career opportunity to work directly with an industry leading client who values the contributions of its GEC Team. You will have the opportunity become an extension of Staff and trusted advisor, and lead ITS projects and programs from the planning stage through deployment and operations. You will also join a nationally recognized engineering firm providing planning and design services to the Florida Department of Transportation and Transportation agencies throughout Florida. Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of ITS engineering and analysis tasks associated with Dewberry’s CFX GEC contract
  • Enforce CFX ITS Design Guidelines and provide guidance to CFX staff on conceptual planning and final design elements relating to ITS projects.
  • Actively manage ITS projects and deployments across the CFX system
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with Staff from across the CFX organization
  • Coordinate closely with and provide project status updates to CFX Project Managers and Leadership
  • Provide timely technical guidance to Consultants in order to maintain fast-paced project delivery schedules
  • Manage submittals and reviews of project deliverables
  • Work closely with other members of the Dewberry CFX GEC Team to ensure projects and programs are delivered successfully
  • Perform a variety of other Program Management responsibilities as needed/assigned, such as assisting in work plan development, performing analysis of system assets, leading small design projects, refining management processes/systems, etc.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 15+ years of progressive experience managing FDOT or similar public agency projects
  • Florida PE license, or ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • Strong project/program management background, preferably in Florida
  • Proven experience managing the integration of advanced roadside electronics and Fiber Optic Networks (FON)
  • Direct project experience overseeing Wrong-Way Driving (WWD) detection systems, Automated Incident Detection (AID), and Connected/Automated Vehicle (CV/AV) infrastructure
  • Attention to detail and the ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects/assignments, and deliver results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively present to large audiences
