Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate gear-cutting equipment such as hobbing, shaping, grinding, and CNC machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Manufacture precision gears including spur, helical, bevel, and worm gears.
Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections.
Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Record production and quality-control information.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes and machining techniques.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
Good math, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
10+ years of experience in CNC gear cutting.
