Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support scalable and secure cloud infrastructure and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GCP CloudOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud networking, security, observability, SRE practices, and GCP data platforms.
The candidate will work closely with architecture, security, DevOps, data, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, highly available, and cost-optimized GCP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver scalable GCP workloads using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build and Git (GitHub/GitLab).
- Implement environment promotion processes, deployment guardrails, and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Design and implement secure GCP identity and access controls using IAM, service accounts, Secret Manager, KMS, Organization Policies, and VPC Service Controls.
- Design scalable GCP networking using VPCs, subnets, Cloud NAT, Load Balancing, Private Service Connect, and VPN/Interconnect.
- Implement cloud security controls including Cloud Armor (WAF) and Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP).
- Establish observability and SRE practices using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, Trace, and Profiler.
- Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, alerting, operational runbooks, and reliability standards.
- Develop data platforms and pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Composer/Airflow, and Dataproc for batch and streaming workloads.
- Automate cloud operations using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and APIs.
- Drive reliability, performance optimization, and cost optimization across GCP environments.
- Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortems for production issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, cloud standards, operational procedures, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of GCP platform engineering and CloudOps practices.

Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, or related technology roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong Python and Docker experience.
- Strong understanding of GCP CloudOps and SRE practices.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.
- Strong experience with Terraform and CI/CD automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with enterprise-scale GCP platform engineering.
- Experience with cloud governance and security controls.
- Experience supporting production environments and participating in incident response.
- Experience mentoring engineers and establishing cloud engineering standards.
