Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure configuration, deployment, and support for a large-scale Life Sciences environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, configuring, and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure while supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.

This role requires a strong understanding of cloud networking, infrastructure automation, security, and operational support within regulated environments such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Manage and support core GCP services including Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, and monitoring tools.
  • Configure cloud infrastructure components including networking, security policies, load balancers, firewalls, and identity/access controls.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support cloud deployments and infrastructure optimization.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security compliance.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues and provide production support.
  • Support migration of on-prem applications and infrastructure to GCP.
  • Ensure cloud environments adhere to enterprise governance, compliance, and security standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of overall IT infrastructure/cloud engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong experience in infrastructure configuration and cloud administration.
  • Experience with:
    • GCP networking and security
    • IAM configuration and access management
    • Compute Engine and Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
    • Terraform or Infrastructure as Code tools
    • Linux/Unix administration
    • CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools within GCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare clients.
  • GCP certifications such as:
    • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
    • Google Professional Cloud Engineer
  • Experience with regulated environments and compliance standards.
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
