Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Cloud Architect to join our team for a 6-month onsite project in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions and a strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Spanner, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, and Pub/Sub.
• Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, Cloud Build, and Artifact Registry.
• Strong knowledge of Git (GitHub/GitLab), Docker, Python, Go, Bash, and SQL.
• Understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, VPC, subnets, Cloud NAT, Load Balancing, Private Service Connect, Cloud Armor (WAF), VPN/Interconnect, IAP, VPC Service Controls, Org Policies, KMS, Secret Manager, IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, Trace, and Profiler.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Digital: Python.
• Experience with Digital: Docker.
• Experience with CloudOps for Google Cloud.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver GCP workloads using various GCP services.
• Build infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines with Terraform, Cloud Build, and Git, ensuring environment promotion and guardrails.
• Implement identity and security controls, including IAM, service accounts, Secrets Manager, KMS, org policies, and VPC Service Controls.
• Design scalable networking solutions including VPCs, subnets, NAT, load balancers, Private Service Connect, and interconnectivity.
• Establish observability and SRE practices including Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting, SLIs/SLOs, alerting, and runbooks.
• Develop data platforms and pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Composer/Airflow, and Dataproc for batch and streaming.
• Automate operations with Cloud Functions/Run and APIs to drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Lead incident response and postmortems, mentor engineers, and document standards.
