    Gas Welder & Distribution Technician Trainee

    Starting Rate of Pay: $36.29 p/hr.

    Location: Southborough, MA                                                                               

    Schedule:   Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 3:30PM

    We are seeking a skilled gas utility welder to perform high-quality welding, fabrication, and maintenance on our natural gas transmission and distribution systems. You will work independently or with construction crews to ensure safe, leak-free pipeline operations across residential and commercial networks

    ROLE & SCOPE:

    The Welder& Gas Distribution Technician constructs, maintains, and repairs steel natural gas pipelines, mains, and service-associated station components.  In addition to welding duties, the technician is responsible for assuring that all gas construction and maintenance work that is completed is performed in accordance with Company, State, and Federal regulations.  This includes inspections and repairs.

    The Welder & Gas Distribution Technician is responsible for successfully completing all training, OJT Tasks and examinations as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High School Education or equivalent

    2. Must have a Minimum of two years of commercial or industrial pipe welding experience, preferably within the gas utility industry.

    3. Welding certification preferred.

    4. Experience working with heavy construction equipment.

    5. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

    6. This position will require the satisfactory completion of a physical pre-screening, completion of company training programs, evaluations and written test.

    7. Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.

    8. Must possess a valid driver’s license, CDL license preferred.

    9. Ability and willingness to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.

    10. Must have a work history that demonstrates safe work habits.

    Emergency Response:
