Gardens and Grounds Manager

Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery is seeking a hands-on, energetic Gardens & Grounds Manager to lead the daily care and presentation of grounds and estate gardens. This role oversees a small team, ensures high-quality maintenance, and supports the overall beauty and guest experience of the property.

Position Title: Gardens and Grounds Manager

Location: Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits or Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits

Hours: Full-time, regularly scheduled 40 hours/week

Wage: $26.00/hr to $32.00/hr, based on experience

What You'll Do:

• Lead and support the gardens and grounds team to complete daily and seasonal tasks.
• Oversee planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, mowing, and general landscape care.
• Maintain garden beds, seasonal displays, and outdoor features to estate standards.
• Monitor plant health and coordinate basic pest/disease management.
• Ensure grounds are clean, safe, and event-ready throughout the year.
• Manage irrigation checks, small repairs, and coordination with maintenance when needed.
• Maintain inventory, schedules, and simple documentation for garden activities.

What You Bring:

• 3–5 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds care.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plant care and landscape maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and perform physical tasks.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills.
