Department Name, location of department: Psychology
Purpose of Position: Faculty Support
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
OBSERVATIONAL TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES FOR ETHOLOGICAL RESEARCH
Work-Study: Research and Science Communication Assistant
A hybrid position for a student interested in wildlife research, research data management, fieldwork, and visual science communication.
The OTTER Lab is seeking a reliable, curious student to help move wildlife research from field
photographs to usable data - and to help tell the story of that work through strong visual
content.
Research and data management
Assist with transferring, organizing, and entering wildlife data from photographs maintained in Adobe
Lightroom into Wildlife Insights. This work requires careful attention to detail, consistency, accuracy, and the
ability to work independently once trained.
Science communication and field content
Join select research and laboratory field excursions to document the work we do through photography and
short-form video. The student will help create engaging visual content that communicates field research,
student experiences, wildlife, and the scientific process for web and social-media use.
What the student will gain
Because some content will be created during field excursions, occasional availability outside standard work
hours may be necessary.
