Title of Position: FWS TRIO Student Office Assistant

Department Name, location of department: TRIO Program, AuCoin Hall, Forest Grove Campus

Purpose of Position: This is an in-person, part-time role that supports daily office operations, provides customer service to students/families regarding the TRIO program, aids in administrative tasks like data entry and scheduling, and manages the TRIO social media account.

Length of employment: 2026-2027 academic year.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Outward facing contact with students, employees, and the public. This includes answering emails, in-person questions, and the phone.
  • Data entry for student appointments and activities
  • Maintain office cleanliness and supplies
  • Attends and takes photos or videos at events or activities
  • Posts regularly on TRIO social media accounts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

General Qualifications:

  • Communicates effectively and appropriately with a variety of customers, including students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Builds on basic learning and carries it from one situation to another
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in problem solving and decision-making
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in numerous detailed record-keeping tasks
  • Maintains proper appearance and personal conduct for the employee's particular job.
  • Confidentiality and compliance with FERPA laws must be maintained at all times.
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working conditions are a general office environment with public contact. TRIO office hours are Monday-Friday from 9-5.
