Classification Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and are eligible to be employed through Federal Work-Study. Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. Must be able to work a minimum of 5 hours per week.

Job Description:

The Sustainability Studies program, in association with Ethics in the Public Sphere and UF CAIRES, is seeking a student assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year. The student assistant will support communications, events, and program operations and provide general clerical and administrative support as needed.

  • Assist with planning and organizing events
  • Create publicity materials (flyers, digital content, announcements)
  • Support social media efforts for both programs
  • Update and maintain program websites using WordPress
  • Provide general program and administrative support as needed

Expected Salary:

The salary is $15/hourly.

Required Qualifications:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and are eligible to be employed through Federal Work-Study. Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. Must be able to work a minimum of 5 hours per week.

Preferred:

  • Major or minor in Sustainability Studies and interest in ethics
  • Commitment to remain in the role for at least one year
  • Experience with WordPress or other website management systems
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe, or similar design tools
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Basic photography and photo editing experience
