FWS - Operations Assistant - Paws and Pumpkins Rescue (CSWS)

This position is only open to current Pacific University Students

Location: Off Campus at Paws and Pumpkins Rescue in Forest Grove

Wage: $16.80/hr

Length of employment: 2026-27 academic year

Purpose of Position: Paws & Pumpkins runs a number of community programs to aid low income families who are in need of pet supplies or financial assistance for pet medical care. Their mission is to rescue stray/feral cats, with an emphasis on cats who have special needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Students in this position will be in charge of:

• Keeping the cat lounge and gift shop clean and sanitary for the cats
• Interacting with customers and communicating, both virtually and in person with customers and community members
• Answering questions
• Responding to community requests
• Operating the checkout scan for purchases / donations

Required:

• Must be able able to stand and walk for a minimum of one hour
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
• Able to use and operate checkout stand software
• Experience using various social media platforms
• Experience working with animals, either volunteer or paid
• Able to to use Google Drive software
• Able to do all duties required in this position WITHOUT the use of generative AI
