    Position Summary:

    The AV Student Assistant supports campus sporting events, conferences, presentations, performances, and other university activities by helping with audiovisual setup, operation, troubleshooting, and breakdown. This position plays an important role in ensuring events run smoothly and professionally. Students gain hands-on experience with live sound, video, projection, streaming, and event production while developing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Evening and weekend availability is required.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and break down audiovisual equipment for sporting events, conferences, presentations, and campus programs.
    • Assist with microphones, sound systems, projectors, computers, cameras, livestreaming, and video playback.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Reliable, punctual, and available to work sporting events, conferences, evenings, and weekends.
    • Interested in audio, video, technology, or live-event production; prior experience is helpful but not required.
    • Able to follow instructions, work well with others, solve problems calmly, and safely lift or move AV equipment.

    Supervisor: Amy Devlin - Audio Visual Services Director

    Amy Devlin is the Director of Audio-Visual Services at Maharishi International University and an experienced live-event producer and project manager. She has over 25 years of experience managing conferences, live broadcasts, awards programs, and campus events. Amy is passionate about mentoring students and providing hands-on training that prepares them for professional careers in academic, corporate, and entertainment audiovisual production.

    As the student's supervisor, I will provide hands-on training in professional audio, video, livestreaming, and live-event production. I will assign and oversee work, offer ongoing guidance and feedback, and help the student develop the technical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills needed for entry-level audiovisual roles.
