Future Operations Lead

LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO

JOB STATUS: Full-time

SALARY: $130,000 - $180,000

CLEARANCE: TS/SCI

TRAVEL: Up to 20%

 

 

Astrion is seeking a Future Operations Lead to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

The Future Operations Lead will provide technology prioritization support to USSF acquisitions and space control communities, and liaison with external organizations to support the unit’s future planning and operations initiatives.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 10+ years’ experience in tactical and strategic multi-domain operations
  • BA or BS degree
  • Prior experience in establishing priorities within three letter organizations and the intelligence community
  • Knowledge of electronic warfare (EW) principles and experience in EW planning and operations
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details to small project teams and senior audiences
  • Able to read, write, and interpret complex documents
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • MA or MS Degree
  • Prior experience with acquisitions and/or software engineer development
  • Prior experience in developing innovative technical solutions to emerging novel problem sets
  • Prior experience with rapid acquisitions support to space and cyber operations
  • Strong desire to keep technical skills current and remain abreast of emerging technologies and existing solutions
  • Familiarity with various SATCOM systems & RF signals
  • Prior USAF/USSF major command (MAJCOM), HQ Air Force, combatant command (COCOM), Special Operations, or Joint Staff experience

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Liaison with intelligence, operations, and R&D communities to identify future capability gaps relevant to the unit’s mission set
  • Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a team environment
  • Provide SME level support on operational integration topics to project teams and future development initiatives
  • Provide future technology requirements management support across the unit
  • This position could require some travel, potentially around 3-4 weeks per quarter
