Description
This position is centered on investment product distribution throughout Latin America and key international markets. The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory guidance on the cross-border marketing and distribution of investment products across U.S. and Latin American jurisdictions, with a focus on regional offering requirements, securities regulations, and compliance obligations. The role requires deep knowledge of broker-dealer distribution frameworks in both U.S. and international markets, as well as experience advising on private fund regulations across Latin America. Spanish language skills are strongly preferred to support a growing client and partner network across the region. The position involves navigating complex regulatory environments and coordinating compliance strategies across multiple jurisdictions, including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and other significant Latin American markets.
Profile
5+ years of fund formation experience within the investment management space
Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA regulations
Working knowledge of Latin American fund offering rules and regulatory frameworks private funds and other products
Experience with offshore fund structures, Regulation D offerings, and international private placement requirements
Member in good standing of NY or FL Bar, another state or jurisdiction
Law firm or in-house experience at an asset management firm or broker dealer is a plus
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
Organized and detail-oriented with big picture capability
